HEROS was granted charitable status in 2006 supported by North Farm Stud, where the charity it
based.  RoR also offer financial support in the setup and ongoing work of HEROS.

Every year thousands of racehorses leave racing for a variety of reasons including injury, old age and
lack of ability. But retirement from racing does not mean the end for these horses as thoroughbreds
are so trainable they have talents in many other disciplines.

Since 2006 HEROS has successfully rehomed hundreds of ex-racehorses and has developed a first
class reputation for correctly matching these horses to their new owners across all disciplines; as
competition horses, hacks or simply companions and truly giving them a second chance and an
opportunity to enjoy 'A New Life After Racing'.
