“Our students enjoyed a fascinating visit to North Farm Stud, and were very interested to hear about the hard work and dedication of the HEROS staff in their mission to rehabilitate ex-racehorses. Meeting the horses and their foals and watching some ex-racers being exercised was the highlight of the trip.”

HEROS welcomes visits from Universities and Colleges throughout the country for a unique experience that offers a fascinating insight into the rich heritage of racing, HEROS and retraining of racehorses.
A variety of barns, yards, arenas and horses showcase the technology, veterinary intervention and skills required during the retraining process of former racehorses.
We are able to tailor your visits to suit specific modules and learning outcomes across a range of topics including none equine specific such as animal health and welfare or business studies.
HEROS has been awarded a Racing Foundation grant to develop their education provision and our aim is to encourage more people to access racing and retraining of racehorses, and explore the transferable knowledge between subjects.
Our Education and Training Development Manager will manage your visit, and our yard staff will be on hand to offer information, demonstrations or case studies, dependent on your requirements.
We are currently undergoing significant infrastructure development to our indoor school, scheduled to be completed by December 2017, which will allow increased access to our dedicated education spaces.
£12.00 per pupil – payable by invoice
HEROS offers a host of benefits and discounts for larger groups, including free teacher spaces, picnic area and refreshments during any questions session.
