This programme is suitable for those employed within the sector, seeking to gain competence and a recognised qualification within the industry.

Through College attendance on a day release basis, candidates will receive high quality training and development combined with the awareness of the commercial attributes and skills required to run and work within a successful equine business. The Intermediate Apprenticeship seeks to encourage excellence and raise standards within the industry through developing highly skilled and employable staff.

Candidates will be assessed in the work place and visited by one of our assessors on bimonthly and will undertake training and assessment over a minimum* of 12 months, dependent on initial assessment.

*Minimum durations apply for 16 – 18 year old. 19 + learners can apply for accredited prior learning which may reduce the duration. Funding rules dictate a minimum of 12 months duration.

Work Based delivery programme consists predominantly of on-site training and assessment within the workplace, supported by off-site technical training as required. Course teaching, learning and assessment is enhanced through the effective use of e portfolio and distance learning resources to ensure flexible delivery is responsive to learner, employer and situational needs.

The Apprenticeship is made up of a number of different nationally recognised qualifications:
